The Examination of the Lime Down Solar Park Development Consent Order (DCO) application closed on 21 October 2026, following a six-month Examination process.
We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to engage with the proposals throughout the consultation and Examination process, including individuals, local communities, Wiltshire Council and other key stakeholders.
The Examination provided an important opportunity for the proposals to be scrutinised and for interested parties to have their say. Throughout the process, the project team has carefully considered and responded to the points raised, providing detailed evidence to support the application and address matters raised.
What happens next?
The application will now progress through the recommendation and decision stages.
The Examining Authority has up to three months following the close of Examination to submit its recommendation report to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, who then has up to a further three months to decide whether development consent should be granted. These statutory periods may be extended.
A decision is expected in spring 2027 at the earliest.
In the meantime, our community relations team will remain available to respond to enquiries and provide further information about the project.
The DCO application, Examination submissions and formal updates are available on the Planning Inspectorate's Lime Down Solar Park documents page.
